Blue Mountain Instructor Training Course
The Instructor Training Course at Blue Mountain Resort provides potential candidates an opportunity to meet with other applicants, talk with our seasoned instructors, and learn all about teaching basics & techniques you will use on and off the snow.

We are seeking ski and snowboard enthusiasts for the 2016-2017 Winter Season. We invite friendly, outgoing individuals to participate in the Instructor Training Course (ITC) that will take place this Fall. Successful applicants will be offered a position on our team this Winter! Positions include ski and snowboard instructors (ages 16 & up), and junior instructor interns (ages 14 & 15). The interns will begin as volunteers and have a chance to become full instructors after they complete additional training.

2016-17 Instructor Training Course Information
Blue Mountain Resort's ITC is a 3-day event and you must attend all three sessions!
Indoor Session: Saturday, November 19 from 9am to 4pm (no equipment needed).
On-the-Snow Sessions: December 17 & 18 from 9am to 4pm in the Valley - be sure to check your email (bring your equipment and dress for a day on the snow - weather permitting, if we need to postpone this we will let you know).
Location: in the Valley at the Frontier Center - please bring a lunch for these dates, as the cafeterias may not yet be open.
- Improving personal riding/skiing
- Teaching basic skills to beginners
- Instructing children
- Managing classes
- Understanding and utilizing different learning styles
- Being safe on the mountain and sharing the Responsibility Code
- And so much more!
The cost is $60, which includes instruction and daily lift tickets. This fee is applied towards the jacket deposit for those who join the team and will be refunded to those who return for the following season!
The clinicians teaching the course are all certified with the PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) or AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) and have been teaching skiing or snowboarding for many years at Blue Mountain Resort.
After the course, applicants will receive daily lift tickets to shadow experienced instructors at times most convenient for them. Once they successfully teach their own lesson(s), they will become full members of our team and receive their own season passes and many other Blue Mountain perks!
