Welcome to the Blue Mountain Learning Center!
Whether you’ve never seen snow or want to improve your skiing or snowboarding skills, Blue Mountain Learning Center has the lesson for you! Experienced skiers and riders will enjoy improving on the highest vertical, the most varied terrain, and some of the longest runs in Pennsylvania! Beginners will have a blast on our Terrain-Based Learning slopes, where we shape the snow to help new skiers and riders learn with ease and confidence!
Learn With Us
Our Learning Center is located in the Frontier Center in the Valley at the base of Blue Mountain. The Frontier Center is attached to the Valley Lodge on the far left side of the building (looking up at the mountain), and we use two main teaching areas. The Frontier Alley slope has three tiers, each complete with a magic carpet conveyor lift. The Valley School East & West slopes also have three magic carpet conveyor lifts, as well as the Valley Triple lift when students are ready to transition to more challenging terrain.
Our Ski and Snowboard Daily Lessons are designed to teach students of all ages the basics, as well as more advanced skills, by fostering a fun, safe, and supportive learning environment. Some of our lessons are “drop-in”, while others require a reservation:
- Group Beginner Lesson (ages 8 & up) drop-in format
- Explorer Lesson (ages 4 to 12) drop-in format
- Private Lesson (ages 3 & up) reservation required
- Adaptive Lesson (ages 3 & up) reservation required
Our Ski and Snowboard Multi-Week Programs are designed to teach students of all ages the fundamentals of skiing & riding, how to fine-tune skills, and improve techniques over time. All programs are comprised of small groups, which are initially developed based on age, skill level & overall goals:
Our top-notch ski and snowboard instructors love to share their snow-sports passion with their students! Many are affiliated with the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) and the American Association of Snowboard Instructors (AASI). Several are certified in multiple disciplines, including but not limited to: Alpine, Snowboard, Children’s Specialist, Adaptive, and Telemark. We have several bi-lingual instructors, whose second languages include: Spanish, French, German, Thai, Russian, Malaysian, Indonesian, Portuguese, Dutch, Serbo-Croation, Greek, Polish, Ukrainian, and Mandarin Chinese.
We are excited to have a new junior instructor program this year, requiring our youngest staff members to have some extra, extensive training before they can give lessons on their own. But don't let their age fool you - some of our youngest instructors have been skiing or snowboarding since they were able to walk, and have over a decade of sliding experience!
