Our Adventure Camp Staff are the cream of the crop! Born leaders and educators, our Camp Staff work at Blue Mountain Resort year-round. Caring and insightful, they will make sure that your kids have the time of their life AND learn while having fun!
Camp Program Director
Joe Forte has been a part of the Blue Mountain Resort family for over 18 years. Joe has a passion for working with children and creates a program where education comes alive with adventure. His philosophy is to teach a curriculum that isn't available in school. Joe says, "Out here on the mountain is where kids find confidence, leadership, long lasting friends and a love for the outdoors." Joe holds a Master’s Degree in Education and numerous high level certifications in team building, high ropes courses, archery and rock climbing.
During the Winter months, Joe is busy as the Learning Center Director, Staff Trainer for our Snow Sports, as well as the proud Head Coach of the Blue Mountain Freestyle Team. Joe is known for his many certifications in coaching, USASA National finishes and contagious positive attitude.
Susan Burt will join us at Adventure Camp for her 4th year, but this Winter was her 26th year working in the Children's Snow Sports Learning Center at Blue Mountain Resort! Susan's main responsibility as Camp Administrator is to maintain communication with every family. She enjoys making the campers and counselors feel like they can call Blue Mountain a home away from home. She began working as the "Ski-Wee Mom" and has now come full circle working as our "Camp Mom."

High Ropes Course Specialist
Meghan Grady has been with Adventure Camp for the past three years. Meghan is very experienced with our ropes course as well as with our other camp activities. She loves to be outdoors, and spends her free time camping, hiking, and backpacking with her family.
Meghan also has a Liberal Arts Degree. During the winter season, she is a snowboard instructor certified with the American Association of Snowboard Instructors.
Val is our River Specialist. She has over 30 years of river guiding experience. With her Environmental Studies degree from ESU, Val loves to point out the native flora and fauna. Her hobbies include photography, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, skiing and hiking.
High Ropes Specialist & Photographer
For the 5th year, Emily Synder will be returning to Adventure camp to resume her position as a high ropes specialist. Around the camp, she can usually be spotted facilitating high and low ropes, running errands in the ATVs, or dancing around the lunch tables when there's a particularly good dish on the menu.
In addition to her certifications in ropes facilitation and rescue, Emily is an AASI certified snowboard instructor in the wintertime, and will be graduating college in December with a Bachelor in Fine Arts Degree in Photography.
Brandon Schnell is returning to the Blue Mountain Resort team for his fourth year. Brandon has a passion for working with children. During the winter months, he spends time with the Explorers program sharing his profound love for skiing with children of all ages. He is also part of the Professional Ski Instructors of America.
Brandon's other hobbies include archery, fishing, boating, ultimate frisbee, and drone racing. He continues to give back to his community as an active volunteer firefighter and EMT.
Brandon is currently pursuing a degree in Physician Assistant Studies, upon completion, he plans to extend his devotion to helping patients in critical care.
Corey Perich is excited to be joining the Blue Mountain Adventure team as a camp counselor in his first year. Corey is an outdoor enthusiast who is certified in high ropes rescues and has been teaching skiing and snowboarding in the wintertime for 23 years.
Corey earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the United States Air Force Academy and is currently working towards his Master of Arts degree in Counseling.
Emma McIvor is returning to the Blue Mountain Adventure Camp for her second year. Emma loves working and making bonds with the campers. In the off-season, Emma can be seen in the Learning Center teaching explorers how to snowboard.
She loves the outdoors and also enjoys rock climbing. Emma can usually be found at the rock climbing gym or climbing outside with friends.
This fall, Emma will be moving to Paris, France where she will be living with a family and teaching their child English. Upon returning, she will attend the Fashion Institute of Technology to study Fashion Business with a minor in Sustainability.
Claire McIvor is a second year returning camp counselor. She has been with Blue Mountain since 2017 starting as a snowboard instructor at the Learning Center. Claire has a love for going to concerts, the water and travel. She has had the opportunity to go to FireFly Music Festival, a 4 day music event where she saw over 20 bands. She has visited 9 European countries over the last three years with her most recent trip to Spain and Portugal. Claire will add to that list again this summer when she travels to Costa Rica. Claire is looking forward to making fun, new memories this summer with the campers.
Seth is excited for his first year at Blue Mountain Adventure Camp. Seth is an avid outdoorsman and competitively swims throughout the year. He loves working with all ages and seeks to make meaningful connections with each camper. Seth is also an Eagle Scout and loves kayaking, canoeing, whitewater rafting, and water sports. Before coming to Blue Mountain, Seth was a lifeguard for two years.
Seth will be attending Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia this fall. He will be majoring in Finance and studying premed.
Logan Pfaff is returning for his third year at Blue Mountain Adventure camp. Logan loves the outdoors, and is excited to be returning to Blue Mountain 895941 Camp.
Logan’s other hobbies include scouting, skiing, reading, and outdoor activities in general.
Junior Camp Counselor
This summer will be Molly’s first year working at the Adventure Camp as a junior counselor. It was her first year as an Explorer Ski Instructor as well this past winter. Molly loves working with kids and other coworkers. She has a love for skiing, snowboarding, and being outside and active. She has been on snow and at Blue Mountain since age 3 and was a former ski racer on the Blue Mountain PARA team.
Molly is an honor student and has achieved high honors and principal's list during her first high school year. She was previously inducted into National Junior Honor Society in academic years 7 and 8. From an early age her leadership skills became apparent and is eager to share her experience with the young campers.
The dedicated Blue Mountain Adventure Camp staff ensures all campers are safe, healthy and having fun. Through supervised activities, your kids will have the best week learning new skills, making friends and creating memories that will last a lifetime.
