EXPLORERS

Snowboarding lessons on March 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 will be 1st time snowboarding only. All levels of snowboarding will be provided on the weekends. All levels of skiing will be provided every day.

1st time to Expert - skiers (ages 4-12) riders (ages 7-12)  Instruction, progress report, EXPLORER pin + lift ticket. Full-day session also includes lunch.

Ski rentals $20, snowboard rentals $20, helmets $10 extra per day.

We stop selling tickets at 9:30am for the morning session and 12:30pm for the afternoon session.

Registration is 9 am to 9:45 am for the morning and all day sessions. You may register for the afternoon session 12:30 pm to 12:45 pm.

Explorers is located at the lowest level in the Summit Lodge.

Our staff is specially trained to help your child catch the excitement of snow sports without competitiveness, but WITH tons of FUN and GAMES. YOU may even catch a glimpse of our resident snowmonsters, Snowball, the snow tiger and his friend Bucky, the snowboarding beaver.

Beginners start in the protected environment of Explorer Hill complete with a Carpet Conveyor Lift. As they begin to master skills and gain confidence they progress to the green and blue trails with the ultimate goal in sight: going with mom and dad on the "big slopes".

Each two hour session includes a lift ticket, class organization, instruction on the snow, and break time. (Snowball says we have the best hot chocolate on the mountain!!) At the end of the day, each child gets a progress card explaining what they accomplished and an Explorer pin to show off to their friends. The full day program includes lunch in the Explorer room with the coaches and other kids in their group.

Our afternoon session does not include lunch. Children need to eat a nutritious meal before they are registered. Explorers is a peanut free environment with respect to those who are allergic.

*Children must be toilet trained, willing to ski or ride, and be comfortable in a group situation to participate in the Explorer Program. Our experience has shown it can be difficult and very frustrating for kids under 7 to learn to snowboard. Please plan to sign up for a private lesson with our snowboarding school at Valley School.

Parent must remain at Blue Mountain for the duration of the lesson.

Due to safety concerns parents are not permitted in the Explorer room or on Explorer Hill during the lessons. Parents can watch their children from the Vista Cafe located upstairs in the Summit Lodge, or from the new Slopeside Pub and Grill located outside the Summit Lodge. The Slopeside Pub and Grill is the perfect place for parents to watch their children on the Explorer Hill while they eat, drink, and relax outside by the fire pit.

Allow ample time for registration and rentals.

Please make your reservations at least 24 hours before the date you wish to attend. If it becomes necessary for you to cancel a reservation for Explorers you may do so up to two days prior to the first date reserved and receive a full refund on your credit card. If you cancel after the two-day window you will receive a voucher, less a $25 processing fee, valid towards any lesson, lift ticket, or rental product, within the current or following season of original purchase.

HELMETS ARE AVAILABLE TO RENT IN THE RENTAL SHOPS OR TO PURCHASE IN THE SKIERS STORE

 Please note: To maintain the health of our other guests and staff, we will not accept any children in the children's programs if they are showing any symptoms of the flu or sickness.

NEW THIS SEASON: A Special Needs/Adaptive Program is being offered to those who have visual impairments or who have a form of autism spectrum disorder and other types of developments delay issues.
