Instructor Training Course | Blue Mountain Ski Area

Instructor Training Course 
Our Instructor Training Course (ITC) will give you the opportunity to make new friends and improve your riding or skiing skills. Plus, you'll have a great time doing it! Our two-day ITC program is organized and conducted by certified ski (PSIA) and snowboard (AASI) professionals, who are truly passionate about their snow sport. 
DATES:  Saturday, December 10th & Sunday, December 11th, 2011
TIME:    12.10.2011 8:30AM to 4PM and 12.11.2011 9AM to 3PM
FEE:       Applications received by 11.16.2011 is $70 & $80 after 11.16.2011

Junior Instructor Training Course
Our Junior Instructor Training Course (Jr. ITC) will give you the opportunity to make new friends and improve your riding or skiing skills. You must be 14 years of age by December 10th, 2010. If selected you will also need working papers before you can be hired. Strong intermediate skiing or riding skills are needed to participate in the Jr. ITC course.
DATES:  Saturday, December 10th & Sunday, December 11th, 2011
TIMES:  12.10.2011 8:30AM to 4PM and 12.11.2011 9AM to 3PM

The Blue Mountain Instructor Training Course is designed for anyone interested in becoming a snowsports instructor. ITC participants will be introduced to the world of snowsports instruction by some of Blue Mountain's top pros. Our pros will elevate your personal skiing or riding as well as your understanding of the sport. You will be introduced to the Blue Mountain environment, our people, our facilities, our terrain and most importantly, how we teach snowsports.

Small ITC groups ensure plenty of personal attention. Your clinic leader will assess your skiing/riding skills as well as your aptitude for teaching.Ample time will be given for individual feedback and personal improvement. You will be introduced to Blue Mountain's method for teaching beginners and become aquainted with PSIA (Professional Ski Instructors of America) and AASI (American Association of Snowboard Instructors) and their teaching model for both skiers and riders. You will see the great impact these organizations have in snowsports

Successful ITC candidates will be invited to take part in Blue Mountains apprentice program. This program is comprised of both on-snow and indoor clinics. Both clinic forms are designed to further enhance and fine tune your skiing/riding and teaching skill set. Training in live lesson scenarios follows and leads to a smooth transition as a future member of our snowsports staff.

How do you get started on your way to enjoying winter like never before?

  •  You must be at least 16 years of age by January 1st 2011
  •  You must at least be an intermediate skier or rider looking to improve.
  •  Be an energetic and enthusiastic individual who enjoys sharing their sport with others.
  •  Be able and willing to commit to a schedule from December 1st through March 31st.
