That means YOU can enjoy the experience of the luge right here!
Each exciting run will be almost 2000 ft. long and made of over 400,000 cubic feet of snow!
Hours & Rates:A valid lift ticket (ski/board/tubing) is required to try the USA Luge.
* Guests may add the luge to a lift ticket for $10 - includes 3 runs
* The USA Luge is ONLY OPEN Saturdays & Sundays from 11AM to 5PM
Along with being able to enjoy the excitement and the rush of adrenaline from the luge, The Fastest Sport on Ice® you can have the opportunity to be scouted for the USA Luge team. We will have official USA Luge coaches working to evaluate you to possibly be selected for the US Olympic team! How it works:
- Guests can reach speeds in excess of 25 miles per hour!
- Use legs & shoulders to drive sleds in this sport of precision and pure fun.
- To start the luge, guests propel themselves from 2 handles while in the seated position, then paddle down the ramp to gain additional momentum.
- Learning how to drive a sled is relatively simple: to go left, you push down on your left shoulder and push your right leg against the curved runner.
- However, knowing when, where and how hard to drive is the tricky part!
* Safety: Guests will be wearing helmets, which Blue Mountain will provide; guests will also go through an orientation before being dispatched by the luge attendant. * Blue Mountain Ski Area's very own Theresa Buckley takes 2nd place overall this, her 1st year with the USA Luge Junior Olympic Team - Congrats we are so proud of you!!!
